Ingredients: Fish Oil (100% natural, from wild Alaska salmon), Softgel (gelatin, glycerin, water), Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopherol). CONTAINS: Fish (from salmon).

Since no Federal limits on Daily Values for Omega-3 fatty acids have been set, no dietary recommendations for EPA and DHA can officially be declared.  However, there have been numerous studies and scientific reviews (e.g. American Heart Association, Mayo Clinic) which suggest certain daily amounts of Omega-3 be taken depending on your health goals and needs.  Each of our Pure Alaska Omega softgels contain 1,000 mg of Alaska salmon oil, approximately 300 mg of which is Omega-3 fatty acid (90mg EPA, 110mg DHA, 100 mg of other omega-3's).

Based on the Mayo clinic review, we recommend the following dosages:

  • To maintain health: 600 mg per day Omega-3 fatty acids per day (2 softgels/day)
  • For cardiac health: 800 mg per day Omega-3 EPA & DHA (4 softgels/day)
  • Lower Triglycerides: 1,200-2,400 mg per day Omega-3 EPA & DHA (5 - 10 softgels/day)
  • Reduce inflammation from Rheumatoid Arthritis: 3,000 mg per day Omega-3  (10 or more/day)

* As with any exercise, dietary supplement, and drug regimen you consider starting, you should consult your personal physician to best determine your ideal dosage.

Storage:

  • Store at room temperature in a dry, cool location with lid tightly replaced
  • Do not freeze or refrigerate
  • Keep out of reach of small children (to prevent choking)
  • Do not purchase if tamper-proof seal has been broken.
  • Shelf life is 24 months or longer, although potency may decrease after 24 months.

Shelf Life: A "Best if Used By" date has been stamped on each bottle.  Please consume the softgels by the Best By Date.

After the best by date, the product may begin to loose potency.  The loss of potency will not cause you any physical harm and one may counter the potency loss by adding an extra softgel to your daily dose. We are currently using a two year shelf life date on our bottles. Our testing, however, shows that even after three years on the shelf, the product does not lose potency, nor does it begin to oxidize.

Ingredients:Fish Oil (100% derived from free-swimming, wild Alaska salmon), softgel (BSE free bovine hide gelatin, glycerin, and water), tocopherol (Vitamin E) to preserve freshness (Vitamin E is plant derived and may come from soy).

Heavy Metals:  Alaska Salmon are relatively short lived, and they pass much of their lives in the prisitne cold waters of Alaska.  For a variety of possible reasons, Alaska salmon accumulate very minute amounts of heavy metals in their oil.  In fact, the mercury, lead, and inorganic arsenic levels are below the detection limits of lab testing equipment.

Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's): This class of man made pollutants include compounds such as Dioxin, PCB's and methyl mercury and just like the heavy metals, Alaska salmon appear to have been mostly spared their accumulation.
