Is the Pure Alaska Omega softgel enteric-coated?
Pure Alaska Omega does not use enteric-coated softgels. Our softgels serve as a vessel to deliver Pure Alaska Omega Wild Salmon Oil to your stomach as this is a food grade oil. The softgel minimizes the taste of the natural salmon oil contained within while allowing time to absorb the fatty acids once the softgel is broken. Enteric-coating is often applied to delay the rupture time of the capsule so it goes further down into your digestive system before bursting. This would mask taste or repeat of unflavored, refined, or oxidized (rancid) fish oils that are not pleasant to consume alone. If you like the fresh salmon taste, you may bite the Pure Alaska Omega Wild Salmon Oil softgel to release the oil directly into your mouth for consumption, discarding the empty outer gel afterwards.
